Dr. Bagyam Raghavan MBBS, DMRD, DNBE; is a Senior Consultant Radiologist. She specialises in Breast and Oncologic imaging, PET CT and Non – Catheter Interventions. She established the department of Radio – diagnosis & Imaging at the Apollo Cancer Centre, Teynampet in 1996.
She is passionate about academics and has served as an external examiner for the National Board of Examinations and as a specialist for Breast Imaging. She has several National & International presentations and Publications in peer reviewed journals to her credit. She is the 1st editor of the Breast Imaging Section in the Comprehensive Text Book of Radiology, an Elsiever publication and authored several chapters in Onco-Imaging section.
She is an assessor for Medical Imaging Services of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) which is the National Body for quality maintenance.
She is a Professor of Practice at IIT Madras and faculty for the Image Analytics Course in Madras School of Economics.
She has undertaken several responsibilities in academic societies and was Vice President of the Tamilnadu & Pondicherry subchapter of Indian Radiology & Imaging Association (IRIA) and a Central Council member.
She is a founder member of the Breast Imaging Society of India, and Society of Oncoimaging, India, and is currently the President of both these societies. She is also a nominated Member of International Committee of European Society of Breast Imaging and European Society of Onco Imaging.
