World No Tobacco Day
- In observance of World No Tobacco Day, CANSTOP organized a series of awareness activities throughout May 2025 to educate the public on the dangers of tobacco use. The month-long campaign included Awarenss talks, competitions, medical camps, and outreach sessions tailored to reach diverse populations.
- The initiative began with an Awareness Talk and Medical Camp at a corporate office on May 23, followed by an oral cancer awareness session on May 24, which attracted 54 participants and highlighted the risks of tobacco-related diseases.
- Multiple free screening camps were conducted across slum areas, gypsy settlements, and metro work sites, offering oral and general health check-ups. Dental kits were distributed to promote good oral hygiene.
- Due to significant turnout, CANSTOP extended the camps into June. Across eight locations, 1,053 people were screened, and 54 pre-cancerous cases were identified and referred for further care, demonstrating the high impact of the initiative.

- To spread the message more widely, a Sticker Campaign was held at Chennai Central Auto Stand on May 31, where 300 auto-rickshaws carried anti-tobacco messages. Cancer survivors and caregivers participated, adding emotional resonance to the effort.
- For younger audiences, the “Brush Tobacco Out” painting competition on May 24 engaged 56 children, encouraging early awareness through creativity, while parents received guidance on reinforcing tobacco-free habits at home.
- A large-scale Tobacco Awareness Campaign at Anna Nagar Tower Park on May 30, jointly organized with Rotary District 3234, featured awareness talks, paraiattam, street theatre, mime, and a flash mob. Over 300 participants joined the activities, and awards from the painting competition were distributed. CANSTOP expresses its gratitude to Rotary District 3234, Rotary Club of Madras, Rotaract, media partners, educational institutions, NGOs, partnering organizations, and its dedicated volunteers for contributing to the success of the World No Tobacco Day campaign.
