The SMF Emergency Department (ED) is a 15-bed unit offering the full spectrum of services. SMF was one of the first hospitals in the country to recognise the need for a round-the-clock unit for managing emergencies. The ED provides acute treatment for traffic accidents, burns, poisonings, surgical and acute medical emergencies and thrombolysis for heart attack and stroke. The ED is well-equipped with Multi para monitors, Defibrillators, ventilators and NIV/CPAP/BIPAP machines. Point-of-care tests such as ABG, ECG, ECHO, USG and Cardiac Enzymes are available within the Emergency for quick decision-making in the department. Emergency care is also available at WAVIN OP building Radiology services are easily accessible such as bedside X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT Scan and MRI and is available round the clock. A lab and blood storage area with quick turnaround times is also attached to the ED.
