Skills Enhancement- Basic Suturing Skills Course

At Sundaram Medical Foundation, pursuing excellence in patient care is of cardinal value . As part of our SMF Knowledge series and Skills enhancement to residents we conduct comprehensive Basic Suturing Skills course . -
Through this course, residents gain a deep understanding of the latest techniques and best practices in suturing, enabling them to achieve surgical excellence and successful outcomes.

SAC is Scientific Advisory Committee and IRB is the Institutional Review Board.

SAC was constituted in November 2013 and IRB in June 2004.

SAC will review the Thesis Proposals by Postgraduate Medical students and Research Proposals by Consultants of SMF and also from other Institutions for the scientific part (Like Objectives, Methodology, Sample size calculation, Data collection and Statistical Analysis methods for conducting the research proposal). -
The IRB is responsible for scientific and ethical review of research proposals. It is necessary for all research proposals for health involving human participants to be reviewed and approved by an appropriately constituted EC to safeguard the dignity, rights, safety and well-being of all research participants. -
ECs are entrusted with the initial review of research proposals prior to their initiation, and also have a continuing responsibility to regularly monitor the approved research to ensure ethical compliance during the conduct of research. -
Our Ethics Committee is provisionally registered with Dept of Health Research in 2021 and this is valid for 2yrs till March 2023.

Both SAC and IRB meetings are conducted once in 2 months. First the SAC meeting will be conducted and IRB meeting will be conducted after getting the approval of the Research proposals by SAC. -
Usually SAC and IRB meetings will be conducted in the afternoon between 2.30 to 5pm.
